God Help Me, I Walked Into A Comic Store Today!

Well I went and did it. I walked into probably one of the nicest well organized, well stocked, and well staffed comic stores I have ever seen (beats out the crappy head shop decor of the one I grew up with that's for sure).

Earth 2 in Sherman Oaks. I had been wanting to pick up the remaining trades of Bone that I had yet to read and finish that series (left off a few years ago and never read the ending) and I was sidelined by this awesome Steve Rude art book. Man that guys art kicks so much ass it ain't even funny!

I then got into the whole conversation of leaving off reading comics roughly a decade ago and wouldn't know where to begin again. Well the fountain of information that owns the place (I think) introduced me to the Civil War and Ultimate stuff from Marvel and I ended up dropping 150 bucks that I'm not sure I intended to spend, but never the less I will be interested in seeing if I like the stuff. Good thing is they have a another store in Northridge that stocks all the older back issues I NEED that I ended up selling years back when I was convinced that I would never really be into the whole comic thing ever again.

I sold no less than 40 long comic boxes of comics when I was "over" comics. Dumb as shit. I miss my Byrne X-Men, Avengers, F.F.. Simonson Thor. Miller D.D., Dark Knight, Ronin. Mike Golden stuff etc...tons of great artist runs on multitudes of titles and story arcs I collected and had such childhood nostalgia from.

Now I start the ever so slow process of dedicating 100 bucks a paycheck buying them all over again. I will own them all again.

Damn it, I am cursed to return to the world of comics to some degree.

Even think I will start to thumbnail my story now. Ya know, the one story that we all have stuck on the brain, even though we may have never talked about but it's there in the back of your mind for years and you tell yourself in passing here and there: "I should really do something with this eventually". Yeah. I don't care to try my hand at publishing it, I just wanna tell it and paint it.

God damn that comic store.

I'm really screwed now.

Oh I didn't realize your age until now, I apologize, I wasn't aware that you didn't see the photo.

I feel that with nudity, it all depends on how you are made to perceive it.
At the age of 16 I was drawing from full nude models so in a way it is de-sensitizing and not shocking to me at all.

You seem to have good sense and caution. Just don't let anyone make your decisions for you. Think for your self.

Michael Jackson will be missed. :(

You owned the nude girl photographer, lol XB Well, I don't like these kinds of pics either, but... You were so rude to him! I mean, starting the comment with "poor bastard"... I don't really get what you meant, but... Well yeah I hope you understand me :meow: Just... Relaaaax.
This type of "art" will always exist, as you know too and... I get so sad when I see good manga artists making almost all of their drawings hentai and etc. It sucks because I don't like it, but they are very good, and I think... What if they stopped doing hentai and then give space to other neater kinds of art?
This probably won't happen (at least Noizi Ito and Ken Akamatsu got a little better) but I still wish it a lot.
And about your gallery... It's nice and I'd like to know... How do you make your pics? Like, are they photography/handmade/photoshop? I got curious because your style is very peculiar XB (I wonder if that word exists in English, it exists in Portuguese so I'm using it =_= *noob*)
